Section III.I – Video Essay Contest Rules
- Video must address the official topic “Let's Talk Trash- A look into tourism trash-flow”
- The file format of all uploaded videos must be .MP4. The minimum length is THREE (3) minutes. The maximum length of the video is SEVEN (7) minutes.
- Each entry must be in English.
- Please DO NOT add names of participant(s) in the video. Participant's last name should be the file name, example: lastname.MP4
- To submit the video entry, participants must be deliver a USB flash drive containing video file to the CIS office at House 32 in Dean’s Circle at UOG. Flash drives will be returned immediately. Entries must be received at the CIS office no later than 12:00 pm, Wednesday, March 22, 2017.
- A map may be found on the UOG website at http://www.uog.edu/campus-map
- All Guam high school contestants must submit a completed written parental consent to participate.
- Entries must not, in the sole and unfettered judgment of the Contest Committee, contain any sexually explicit, disparaging, libelous, or other inappropriate content, language, or nudity.
- Entries must not contain any act that is considered dangerous, in the sole and unfettered judgment of the Contest Committee.
- Entries must not violate any copyrights or trademarks, including music used in the video. Applicant must credit the music or it must be the applicant’s original music.
- All dates and times are subject to change.
Section V.I – Scoring of the Video Essay Contest
- Logical Interpretation of Subject & Adherence to Topic: 30 points
- Originality: 25 points
- Innovation and Creativity: 25 points
- Visual Esthetics: 20 points
Section VI.I – Penalties/Grounds for disqualification for the Video Essay Contest
- 10 point deduction for violating rules #1 to #5 in Section III.I
- Grounds for disqualification for failing to follow rules #7 to #10 in Section III.I
